Update: The filming is reportedly going to be taking place at at Parkway Hospital, 7035 113th St, though I haven’t confirmed this yet.

They will be filming the movie “Detachment,” on the north side of Queens Blvd. in the vicinity of 72nd Ave. from this Tuesday through Thursday.

The photo is of the signs they posted along 72nd Ave.

Here is some information my top-notch sources have been able to scrounge up on the Internets about this movie:

From Wikipedia:
Tony Kaye (born 1952, London, United Kingdom) is a director of films, music videos, advertisements and documentaries.  His feature film debut was American History X (1998), a drama about racism starring Edward Norton and Edward Furlong. Norton was later nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.
Kaye is currently in pre-production on the film Detachment (2011). A surrealist drama about the decline of the education system in American high schools
From IMDB:
Adrien Brody, James Caan & Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle & Breaking Bad) are rumored to be in the film.

Fresh From the Farm

Yes, it’s hot, but the more we march on down to the new Farmer’s Market on Metropolitan this summer, the more goodies the farmers will bring us from now until Saturday, November 20th, the last day they are in town before they take the winter off.

And just think how nice it will be to cook up your delicious Thanksgiving Dinner with all those fresh foods from these local farmers. The forecast calls for pie!

The Market will be at 101-15 Metropolitan Avenue, rain or shine, Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Nov. 20th.

If you are walking down 71st Avenue hang a right when you get to Metropolitan and you will see it tucked into a parking area on the north side of Metropolitan. It’s very close to 71st.
